Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Beauty and Nail Centre (registered company in the Republic of Mauritius) collects and uses personal information when you visit our website, contact us, or book our beauty and nail services. Our salon is located at Casse Ghoon Road, Pointe aux Canonniers, Grand Baie 30520, Mauritius.
Who is responsible for your data?
Beauty and Nail Centre is the data controller for personal information collected through this website and our usual salon communications. If you have questions about this policy, please contact us at beautynailctr@proton.me.
Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact form details — your name, email address, optional subject line, and message when you use the form on our contact page.
- Technical details with form submissions — limited browser and device information (such as browser type, language, screen size, time zone, and referring page) to help us diagnose issues and reduce spam.
- Phone and WhatsApp communications — if you call us at +230 263 4237 or message us on WhatsApp, we receive the information you choose to share (for example your name, phone number, preferred service, and appointment details).
- Website usage and analytics — when you browse the public site, we use analytics and tag-management tools including Google Analytics (loaded through Google Tag Manager), Microsoft Clarity, and Yandex Metrika to understand how pages are used (for example pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, referrer, and interaction patterns). Microsoft Clarity and Yandex Metrika (Webvisor) may also record how you interact with pages — such as mouse movement, scrolling, clicks, and heatmaps — to help us improve the website. Our servers and security tools may also process your IP address and request metadata (for example when you submit a form) to enforce rate limits and protect the site from abuse.
- Advertising and conversion measurement — we use Google Ads tags to measure how our advertising performs (for example whether a visit followed one of our ads) and, in some cases, to show relevant ads to people who have previously visited our site. These tools may set cookies and share limited technical data with Google.
We do not knowingly collect payment card details through this website. Payments for salon services are handled in person at the salon unless we tell you otherwise.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to enquiries sent through our contact form or email.
- Arrange, confirm, and manage appointments by phone or WhatsApp.
- Operate and improve our website, including displaying salon content such as our services and prices, opening hours, service and treatment photos, salon photos, client testimonials, and other pages such as Our Work.
- Protect our website, staff accounts, and customers from fraud, spam, and misuse.
- Measure and improve how the website is used (through analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Yandex Metrika).
- Measure the performance of our advertising and, where applicable, show relevant ads to people who have visited our site (for example through Google Ads).
- Comply with legal obligations that apply to our business in Mauritius.
We do not sell your personal information. With your consent, we use a limited set of advertising and measurement tools (such as Google Ads) to understand how our campaigns perform and, in some cases, to show relevant ads to past visitors. We do not otherwise share your personal information for unrelated third-party advertising, and we do not build detailed profiles of you beyond what these standard analytics and advertising tools provide.
Photos, our work, and testimonials
Our website displays images to showcase our salon and services, including:
- Service and treatment photos — examples of nail, lash, and related work, grouped by service category on the homepage and on our Our Work page.
- Salon photos — images of our salon exterior and interior on the About page.
- Testimonials — client quotes and, where applicable, screenshots of reviews from platforms such as Google or social media.
Most salon images are served through time-limited, signed links rather than permanent public file addresses. If you believe any image or testimonial on our site should be removed or corrected, please contact us and we will review your request promptly.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run our website and communications. They process data only on our instructions and for the purposes described in this policy. These may include:
- Email delivery services used to forward contact form messages to our team.
- Website and application hosting infrastructure.
- Secure file storage used to host images displayed on the website (accessed through our application using authenticated, signed links).
- Cloudflare for website delivery, security, and privacy-focused traffic analytics.
- Google (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Google Ads) for tag management, website analytics, and advertising performance measurement on the public site.
- Microsoft (Microsoft Clarity) for website analytics, heatmaps, and session replay to understand how visitors use the public site.
- Yandex Metrika (Yandex) for website analytics and performance measurement on the public site.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses a limited set of analytics and advertising cookies and similar technologies, alongside cookies that are strictly necessary. Non-essential cookies are only set after you accept them through our cookie banner. The following may apply when you use this website:
- Analytics and tag management (Google) — we use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics and related tags, which may set cookies or use similar browser storage to measure visits, page views, and interactions. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
- Session analytics (Microsoft Clarity) — Microsoft Clarity may set cookies or use similar storage to build heatmaps and record session replays of how pages are used, helping us improve the site. Microsoft processes this data under its own privacy policy.
- Analytics (Yandex Metrika) — on the public site we use Yandex Metrika, which may set cookies or use similar browser storage to measure visits, page views, link clicks, and related statistics. Features such as session replay (Webvisor) may record how you interact with pages. Yandex processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can use browser settings or opt-out tools offered by Yandex where available.
- Advertising (Google Ads) — we use Google Ads tags that may set cookies to measure ad conversions and, in some cases, build remarketing audiences. You can manage personalised advertising through your Google Ads settings at adssettings.google.com.
- Traffic analytics (Cloudflare) — Cloudflare provides privacy-focused analytics about site traffic and helps protect the site; it does not rely on advertising cookies.
- Staff admin session — when authorised staff sign in to the website admin area, a secure httpOnly session cookie is set for authentication only. This does not apply to ordinary visitors browsing the public site.
When you first visit the site, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject analytics and advertising cookies; until you choose, only strictly necessary cookies are set and analytics and advertising tools stay disabled (we use Google Consent Mode to signal this). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer, through your browser settings, or by managing personalised Google advertising at adssettings.google.com; blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work. Our contact page may display QR codes that link to Google Maps, WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, or Google reviews. Scanning a QR code opens the relevant third-party service; we do not receive personal data from the act of displaying those codes on our site.
How long we keep information
We keep contact and booking-related messages only for as long as needed to respond, manage our relationship with you, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting requirements. Technical logs used for security and rate limiting are kept for a limited period. When information is no longer required, we delete it or anonymise it where practical.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls for staff systems, and rate limiting on public forms. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please avoid sending sensitive medical information through the contact form.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Children
Our website is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Links to other services
Our website may link to third-party services such as WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, and Google Maps or Google Business Profile. QR codes on our contact page may also direct you to those services. Those platforms have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information once you leave our site or scan a code.
Search engines and AI assistants
To help people find our salon, we publish public business information — such as our services, opening hours, location, and salon photos — in machine-readable formats (including a standard llms.txt feed and structured data) and permit search engines and AI assistants to index it. This content is public business information about the salon only; it never includes your personal data, contact-form messages, or booking details.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
